Richard Lee Morris passed away at his Chehalis, Washington, home Sunday, November 28, 2021. He was born in Lake Oswego, Oregon, April 10, 1949, to Wilbur and Wanita Morris. His family moved to Rochester, Washington, in 1965, and he graduated from Rochester High School in 1967.
Later, he left Thurston County and was a long time Lewis county resident, making his home in Napavine, Centralia, and Chehalis.
Richard was a veteran- serving our country proudly with the United States Army in Vietnam. In 1969, he saw action northwest of Da Nang, though he didn't often share about what he'd seen.
He loved fishing- at one time he was a commercial fisherman in Alaska and Oregon. He also enjoyed hunting, racing, and his grandkids. Talking was another favorite pastime, and he could find common ground with just about anyone.
His shop and his home were always tidy and organized. He spent many happy hours working on cars in his shop, his latest project being a '49 Ford pickup.
A celebration of Richard's life will take place at 3 PM Saturday, April 30, 2022, on the beach in Seaside, Oregon.
