Susan Johnston

Susan R. Johnston passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 at Southwest Medical Center

surrounded by her husband and children. She was born on December 3, 1964 to Norman and

Jeanne Beckers.

Susan was an adventure lover, seeker of happy things in life, and an extraordinary grandma.

She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and tending to her beds, playing and coaching tennis,

camping with family and friends and taking the new pontoon boat out with her husband. She

was most happy when busy, moving outdoors, traveling, or spending time with family and

especially her grandchildren. One of Susan’s unfulfilled travel aspirations was to see the

Northern Lights.

Susan is survived by Scott Johnston, her loving husband of 37 years, her three children Julie,

Kristina (Stephen), and Travis, and her 5 grandchildren Thomas, Audrey, Mason, Willow and

Emmalia, her dad Norm Beckers, and both brothers Mike (Kellie) Beckers and Ken Beckers and

several nephews and nieces. She has a large extended family that reaches over several states.

Susan graduated from Castle Rock High School in 1982. She spent many years raising a family

with Scott before working out of the home. She served 25 years as a paraeducator at Castle

Rock School District. She was the CRHS assistant tennis coach for 12 years with one of her

best friends.

Her service will be held at Steele Chapel, Longview Memorial Park on November 19, 2022 at

2:00 pm.
