Travis Nash Aldrich

Our beloved Travis Nash Aldrich passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 10, 2021, at his Longview, Wash., home. He was 45 years old. Travis was born July 19, 1976, in Anchorage, Ak., to Guy Nash Aldrich and Monica Kay (Keehnen) McNeal.

He was lucky enough to have traveled to (and lived in!) many places in his youth, including Germany, Texas, and Oregon, before coming to Washington at the age of 13.

In 1994, he graduated from High School in Longview, and went on to earn his Associates in Diesel Mechanics from Lower Columbia College in 2003 after his first two children were born.

Travis was a Diesel Mechanic for years, but decided to switch to a less hazardous career that kept him closer to home when he began working as Maintenance Supervisor for SummerWind Apartments in Kelso, Wash.

He reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Michelle ‘Shelly’ Elizondo a few years after graduation. The two were married April 20, 2002, at Seaquest State Park in Castle Rock, Wash. The wedding was a Renaissance themed event that was very memorable and unique, to say the least!

Travis loved his family, and was fiercely loyal and protective. If you were Travis’ friend; that meant you were ‘IN.’ He was caring and generous, but could tell the people he cared about what they needed to hear, even if they didn’t want to hear what he had to say, with no problem. He enjoyed the woods; backyard fires and barbecues; spending time with his family, friends, and kids; and hiking on occasion.

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Shelly; children, Destiny, Hunter, Lillian, and Miles Aldrich; granddaughter from his daughter Destiny, Adia James; siblings, Stuart, John, and Katie; his parents; and many extended family members and friends.

There will be a memorial service held at 4 PM October 29, at Seaquest Park. We hope to see you there to share memories and a potluck dinner.
